Advisory for Visa Application for Foreign Nationals Attending USICON 2027 – Lucknow, India

Greetings!

We extend a warm welcome to all international delegates who wish to participate in USICON 2027, to be held in Lucknow, India. To facilitate your travel and ensure a smooth entry into the country, please carefully follow the advisory below regarding the visa application process.

Type of Visa Required

  1. Conference Visa
    • This is the recommended visa category if you are visiting India only for the conference dates.
    • Conference visas are processed after the Government of India is officially notified of the meeting and passport details of the faculty/delegate are submitted for clearance.
  2. e-Tourist Visa
    • Please opt for this visa only if you have personal or professional travel plans beyond the conference dates.
    • In such cases, mention only your travel dates and do NOT mention the conference in the application, as this may lead to rejection if the visa category and purpose do not match.

1. Documents Required

Please ensure the following documents are ready before applying:


  • Invitation Letter from the USICON 2027 Organising Committee (on official letterhead mentioning dates and venue).
  • Government Clearance Documents (to be provided by the USICON 2027 Committee).
  • MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) clearance – will be applied for by the USICON 2027 Organising Committee.
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of arrival.
  • Recent passport-size photograph.
  • Confirmed travel itinerary (air ticket).
  • Accommodation proof (can be provided by the USICON 2027 Committee, if required).
  • Any additional documents as requested by the Indian Mission/Embassy in your country.

2. Application Process

  • Apply through the Indian Mission/Embassy in your country of residence, or
  • Apply online at: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in
  • Select “Conference Visa” as the visa category.
  • Upload all required documents and complete the application carefully.

3. Processing Time

  • Please allow a minimum of 3–4 weeks for visa processing, especially where government clearances are involved.
  • Delegates are strongly advised to apply well in advance to avoid last-minute delays.

4. Visa Validity

  • Conference visas are generally issued for the duration of the conference, with a short buffer period before and after the event (usually up to 30 days).

5. Additional Notes

  • The USICON 2027 Organising Committee will provide assistance with government clearances wherever required.
  • For nationals of prior-reference countries (e.g., Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.), processing time may be longer. Please consult your local Indian Mission for specific guidance.
  • Ensure all information provided in the visa application exactly matches your passport and travel documents.
